When you think about Porsche cars, you don’t normally think about environmental concerns. Porsche is known for its style, performance and reliability, not for being green. That isn’t to say Porsche vehicles are any more or less fuel efficient than other vehicles, just that Porsche doesn’t conjure up environmentally friendly images the way that, say, Toyota does.

However, Porsche has been paying attention to the environment for quite some time. For example, Porsche constructs its cars with 85% recycled materials, and was a pioneer in installing a waste-management recycling system almost 20 years ago.
Now, Porsche is taking things a step further. Porsche is installing a solar array at one of its logistics facilities located in Ontario, California. The solar array is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 50,000 pounds each year.

There are more and more environmentally friendly choices in Porsche vehicles, as well. Porsche will soon release its Cayenne SUV as a hybrid. The hybrid should reduce fuel consumption by around 25% when compared to the gas-only Cayenne.
Come check out a Porsche today. Not only will you get a sharp vehicle that performs, you’ll be supporting an environmentally friendly company as well.
