Saving On Summer Trips In Your Audi

Just because you want to travel in your Audi vehicle this summer doesn’t mean you have to spend a lot of money. The fact of the matter is there are specific things you can do for your trips to maximize yoru savings while minimizing your hassle.

If you’re taking a longer trip, one of the best things you can do is to save gas. There are specific ways you can do this. First of all, keep your tires inflated to the manufacturer’s recommendation. This can increase your gas mileage by as much as 8% or more. In addition, you should keep your vehicle close to the speed limit as possible, as the faster you go the more gas you use. Using cruise control to keep a steady speed is wise, as well.

You can save in other ways, too. Plan ahead, and pack some healthy snacks and drinks in the car. Try to schedule rest stop breaks ahead.

Finally, you might consider taking “daycations” instead of longer trips. Find destinations close to home, whether it is to a local berry farm to pick berries or even if its just a day at the zoo.

This convertible with a cloth roof uses state of the art fabrics that keep the inside of this vehicle quiet, comfortable, and not too hot or cold.

One of the exciting things about the 2011 Audi R8 Spyder, however, will be the engine. This vehicle will use a 5.2 liter V10 engine. The engine will produce 525 horsepower, and is similar to the engine in the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. It is expected to get from zero to 60 in four seconds or less.

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to see this amazing vehicle until the auto show. Audi is keeping things under wraps, and won’t be providing even teaser shots in advance of the show.

When You Get Your Audi’s Oil Changed

When you take your Audi vehicle to get the oil changed, it’s likely that the service center or mechanic may recommend other services at that time. Two of the most common add-ons are a coolant flush and shock and strut repair. Knowing a little bit about these two can save you money, time and trouble.

One of the most common up-sell items when you get an oil change is a coolant flush. A coolant flush gets rid of your old coolant that has broken down and replaces it with new coolant. This is becoming less and less common, as extended life coolants are more common and only need to be changed every 100,000 miles. These extended life coolants are red in color, whereas the traditional coolant is green in color. Make sure you know what kind of coolant you have in your Audi by looking at your owner’s manual before you have your coolant flushed.

Shocks and struts are another common repair. When your shocks go bad, your Audi is going to ride rough. On top of that, though, your tires will wear unevenly. It’s important, then, to make sure that you replace your shocks when they need it. You can test your shocks and struts by pushing down on the front of the vehicle and then releasing it. It should come back up to its original height easily, and not bounce.

Make sure you only trust a qualified mechanic to service your Audi. Set up an appointment with us today.

Listening To Your Audi

Your Audi is a well built and finely tuned machine. However, every car will sometimes feel the effects of time and being driven down the road. One thing you can do to know how your Audi vehicle is doing is to listen for noises.

If your Audi vehicle makes a clunk or a clank, for example, it is likely that there is a problem with one of the heavier components of the vehicle. It could be that there is a problem with the gears in the transmission. It could be that there is a problem with an axle pinion. It’s also possible that the parts of your Audi that support your vehicle – such as the suspension, struts or shocks – aren’t doing there job that well any longer.

At other times you might hear a squeal or squeak. If your car squeals when you’re stopping, there is probably a problem with your brakes and it is time for new brake pads. If you hear a squeaking noise when you turn, you may have some problem or another with the power steering on your Audi.

If your Audi starts to make a noise, get to your local Doylestown area Audi dealer today. We are able and ready to meet all of your service needs.

The Enigmatic Audi TT

The Audi TT, from the time it was announced as a concept car in 1995 until it actually started rolling off the production line, has been one of the most dramatic vehicles Audi ever produced. It’s look, from the symmetrical profiles to its slab-sided flanks, was new for Audi, and unlike anything the company had previously produced. Most interestingly, the Audi TT looked nothing like the Volkswagen Golf from which it evolved.

So, is the Audi TT a sports car, a roadster, or a sport coupe? It’s hard to fit the TT into any one category. This vehicle has the feel and the look of a real sports car, but has a personality that tends more toward luxury.

The latest version of the Audi TT, redesigned in 2008, is the second generation. It’s a little bit larger than the previous version, but the overall look and feel are the same. Audi’s single frame grill has been incorporated into this version, as well.

If you want a sporty coupe or roadster with amazing performance and plenty of style, check out the 2009 Audi TT today.

The Audi Q7 seats up to seven people. There are four trim levels to choose from, and even the base trim offers plenty of features like dual zone automatic climate controls and even leather upholstery. The top of the line level features things like xenon headlights as well as voice activation of features. Engines range from a 3.6 liter V6 up to a 4.2 liter V8

The interior of the Audi Q7 is somewhat futuristic, with glowing red gagues and an overall air of discreet affluence. The Audi MMI (Multi Media Interface) helps to direct the navigation, climate and even audio systems.

If you want a large SUV that offers plenty of luxury and features, check out the Audi Q7.

Audi Maintains Top Sales

Audi remains one of the most exciting brands in the automotive world. It should come as no surprise, then, that Audi had the smallest decline in global sales among Germany’s luxury car makers. This is especially impressive, as it pits Audi up against both BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

In fact, the contrast in the month of May is startling. Audi sales dropped by 6.1 percent. This is a relatively mild drop, as Mercedes-Benz dropped 12 percent worldwide and BMW sales dropped a whopping 18 percent.

What’s even more impressive about Audi is that it was the only one of the big three luxury auto makers in Germany to avoid an operating loss in the first quarter of the year.

Find out why it is that Audi is doing so well when so many other auto makers are struggling so hard. Come and see your Philadelphia area Audi dealer today, and find the right car to fit your lifestyle.

Where to Get Your Audi Serviced

Getting your Audi serviced isn’t nearly as difficult a prospect as it was twenty years ago. The fact of the matter is that many repair shops are able to do the work you need to have done on your Audi. Still, you want to try to avoid those few bad apples out there when it’s time to get your Audi serviced.

Here are some things you can do to make sure you get the best service for your Audi:

  • Know what your regular service needs are. Check the Audi service schedule, and follow it as closely as possible.
  • Choose a repair shop before you need repairs. That way, when the time comes, you know where you’re going.
  • Ask around about others’ experiences with a repair shop you’re considering. You can also check with the Better BUsiness Bureau in your area.
  • Look around when you visit the shop for the first time. See how organized they are, and whether their equipment looks up to date.
  • Ask quesitons. Make sure the shop has worked on Audi vehicles, and know whether they specialize in specific sorts of repair or service.
  • Try out the repair shop with a minor job first. If they do well, come back.
  • Once you’ve found a shop you like, form a long-term relationship with them. Become a valued repeat customer, and recommend them to others for their vehicle service needs.
