Auto Review: 2011 Porsche Cayenne Turbo

Few vehicles on the road are as beautiful and drivable as the 2011 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. This SUV has class, but it also carries the trademark Porsche sports luxury look and feel.

2011 Porsche Cayenne Turbo

The estimated fuel economy is 17 miles per gallon on the highway but, officially, the EPA hasn’t released its estimated figures yet.

Perhaps one of the most impressive things about the Porsche SUV is its pick up speed. Loaded with a V8 engine 4.8-liter performance and 500 horsepower with 516 pound feet of torque, the Cayenne Turbo can get from 0 to 60 in 4.4 seconds. The top out speed is 173 mph.

The transmission is 8-speed automatic.

The start/stop system is another impressive feature, combining practicality with green technology. When stationery, if the driver’s foot is on the brake the engine will cut off automatically. The on-demand four wheel drive system operates on rear wheel traction until the electronic sensors a wet clutch and that’s when the front wheels dig in and grip.

Porsche gives rear passengers more legroom with the 2011 generation of vehicle. Its also lighter than the previous version, by about 400 pounds. The interior control panels are also classier and easier to use.

Off-roaders will not like the 2011 Porsche Cayenne Turbo, but it wasn’t built for off-roading. Porsche learned that lesson from the 2010 vehicle. Those features were nixed to return to the class Porsche strengths. You will be impressed with the hug of the Porsche SUV tires on the road at high speeds and you can manage feats you won’t even come close to in other SUVs.

While not all available in the U.S., European drives of the 2011 Porsche Cayenne Turbo can order the vehicle with a diesel engine or hybrid. Porsche has almost outdone itself.

2010 Porsche Boxter S

The 2010 Porsche Boxter S is a high-performance two seater sports car with a standard 6-speed manual transmission. An optional feature, taken from the Porsche 911, is the PDK 7-speed automated manual transmission. The Boxter S is in its tenth manufacturing year, but it received its second life in 2009 and this year’s version is a step up. Boy, is it fast.

The Boxter S features Direct Fuel injection and a 3.4-liter flat-six boxer engine with 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. You can accelerate up to 62 miles per hour in just 4.9 seconds. I did say it was fast.

While you’re spinning around your city’s streets looking sporty in your Boxter S you can fold down the soft-top roof and let the wind tousle your hair. Another option for the 2010 Porsche Boxter S is an aluminum hard-top roof though the soft-top comes in four colors: black, blue, brown and gray.

Exterior beauty accoutrement are as charming as the Porsche’s engine parts. An automatic spoiler on the rear reduces lift and keeps you on the road at high speeds. Front end air ducts keeps the engine cool and air flowing to the radiator and brakes. There’s also a halogen headlamp that gives the vehicle is normative Porsche attractiveness and the taillights are stocked with the latest LED technology.

Other features of the 2010 Porsche Boxter S include:

  • VarioCam Plus continuously variable valve timing system
  • Double inertia flywheel
  • Real wheel drive drivetrain
  • Power steering
  • 4-wheel anti-lock brake system
  • Traction control

  • 18″ x 8″ Boxster S II aluminum front wheels
  • 18″ x 9″ Boxster S II aluminum rear wheels
  • Tinted glass

The 2010 Porsche Boxter S is just plain fun to drive and if you’re a Porsche lover you’ll totally love how you look driving it.

The 2010 Panamera is the first four-door sedan offered by the German luxury automaker. These reviewers were invited to Germany to take the 2020 Panamera for one of its first runs and they did exactly what I would have done had I been so lucky. They zoomed across the Autobahn, careened through the Bavarian Alps and took leisurely drivers through the beautiful and serene Alpine villages and towns. During their excursion, they got the sports car up to 170 miles per hour. I don’t know about you, but that’s more than twice as fast as I have ever driven!

But how does the new 2010 Porsche Panamera S really drive? We know it can go fast, but is it a smooth ride? The reviewers were extremely pleased with the handling on the various terrains. The S trim Panamera also comes with a rear spoiler which retracts until it is flush with the body once the vehicle gets above 55 miles per hour. Reviewing the 2010 Porsche Cayenne

Have you been waiting for the latest incarnation of the Porsche Cayenne? If so, the wait is almost over. The engineers and officials at Porsche have been working hard to develop the newest and most innovative luxury SUV on the market. The 2010 Porsche Cayenne GTS is the result of their labors.

The 2010 Porsche Cayenne GTS is not too different from the current model. However, reviewers have said that the newest generation handles corners better so the engineers must have tinkered with the chassis a bit to make this happen. It sounds as though the 2010 version is a bit more stylish, however, with redesigned headlights and a new tailgate. The new Cayenne GTS may also be available in diesel and hybrid versions. Not only that, but rumors are going around that the 2010 Cayenne GTS may also be available in a V-10 if engineers can make it pass the current emissions regulations. If nothing else, you might see it at some auto shows next year.
